In the 12 weeks before Christmas, a group of 21 volunteers (many of them new friends) and the team from idverde cleared the Morestead Road (10 miles between Winchester and Corhampton) of litter. A Herculean effort, which prompted the founding of the Litter Partnership in Winchester.
Under the direction of Staff Sergeant Peter Dyde, this group – with the ongoing support of idverde – now keeps on top of the problem with a weekly pick. Given the much-reduced volume of rubbish, volunteers can now run the course! ‘LitterFit’, a responsible new fitness programme, is born!
